I operate an ethical practice that respects the cultural relativeness of assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of various human distress using pre-and post-modern therapeutic modalities. I am trained in:

  • Individual Therapy

  • Couples Therapy

  • Group Therapy

  • Family Therapy

  • Motivational Counseling

  • Career Counseling

  • Life Span Development

  • Psychopharmacology

  • Trauma & Grief Counseling

  • Addiction & Sexual Disorders

As a helping professional, I align with humanistic psychology, person-centered therapy, and a common factors approach. I believe that the client is the expert on their experience and making decisions about change, and I am the expert in the therapeutic process.

Interpersonal relationships are essential, and I feel that a warm, accepting, respectful, supportive, and trusting therapeutic relationship is a crucial indicator of successful and lasting second-order change that results in positive and successful therapeutic outcomes. I aspire to meet each client where they are and begin to instill hope and restore balance.

I accomplish this by being curious, listening with empathy, understanding your perspective, validating your experience, and providing a safe therapeutic environment for individuals to express any distress within various life domains. From this, we can walk together and begin the healing process. In collaboration, we will set goals, experience self-discovery, find meaning, manage change, gain coping skills, and ultimately transform life’s challenges into self-mastery. This process results in symptom relief, improved daily functionality, enhanced motivation, personal empowerment, and increased wellbeing so you can move through life with ease and experience a meaningful and fulfilling human experience.

Together, we will build a positive and supportive relationship in which you can experience a deepened sense of peace, wholeness, and wellbeing in any aspect of your life you choose. It is my intention to foster an atmosphere of trust and healing and to create a “safe container” within which this growth can occur and anchor.

I believe in working with the individual to help them to make and achieve goals through this holistic recovery. I believe in helping individuals to look beyond any diagnosis to focus on strengths and ways to manage their symptoms and live flourishing and independent lives. In helping individuals to reach their goals, I strive to use my experience, as well as my honest and open style of communication, to act as a positive support to help them to fulfill their longings. The methods used in treatment will vary depending upon the particular needs of each individual.

“I met Daniel when I was emotionally and mentally frayed. I knew I needed help, but didn’t even know where to start. I was on the brink of divorce and didn’t yet have the tools to communicate with my partner effectively or the capability to work through my own feelings properly. Daniel was able to step in and he immediately understood both of our needs and helped us navigate the hardest parts of our lives. We both always felt heard by Daniel and he created a safe space for us to share freely, while maintaining a healthy conversation that worked towards common goals. I come from a large family where therapy has always been a little taboo and Daniel has since become a household name. My personal relationships with friends and family have improved drastically since Daniel helped equip me with the tools needed to work through issues and not just avoid them, as I have too often in the past. I can wholeheartedly say that I am not the same person I was prior to my work with Daniel and will be ever grateful for him meeting me where I was at and helping me build who I am proud to be today.”

“Daniel not only showed genuine interest in me and the difficulties I was facing, but also challenged me to look at those difficulties through different lenses, and to understand the things I could do on my own to improve relationships and outcomes. He helped me think about how to make significant life decisions. Impressively, he sought my feedback on how to be an even better therapist for me”

“My experience with Sacred Illuminations was uplifting, centering, and inspirational. It was my first time trying online therapy, and it could not have gone better. Daniel is a kind and wise person who listens well, radiates warmth and safety, and asks useful questions. Highly recommended!”
